Frequently Asked Question
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the Cannabis ruderalis plant, also known as hemp, according to the US National Library of Medicine. It's a naturally occurring substance used in products like oils and edibles to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm. Unlike its cousin, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the major active ingredient in marijuana, CBD is not psychoactive.
No. There are two main active cannabinoids found in cannabis and hemp: CBD and THC. CBD is non-psychoactive and THC is definitely pschoactive. You will not feel euphoric, sedated, or anxious like you often are with THC. Especially if taking THC as a main. The active ingredient in your desired product. However, there is a very select percentage of people (>5%)that are wired in a way that even a non-psychoactive substance like CBD can make them feel slightly altered. Many of these people do not mind it though and rather enjoy it! These people are usually very sensitive to other things like caffeine or even ibuprofen and likely will know to be cautious upon trying out CBD for the first time due to their experience with any other chemical compounds they ingest. To be safe though, we recommend that you take CBD in the comfort of your home for your first time trying it.
You’ve probably heard the terms cannabis, marijuana, and hemp all tossed around in relation to CBD. The plant Cannabis sativa has two primary species, hemp, and marijuana. Both contain CBD, but there's a much higher percentage in hemp, which typically has very low (less than 0.3%) levels of THC compared to marijuana. The Farm Bill Act allowed the USA to start farming and producing hemp products in 2017. While cannabis legalization is definitely sweeping the nation our company falls inside of the boundaries of The Farm Bill Act so that we can provide medicine to ALL of the people that need it in the great USA. So all of our CBD is made from hemp, not cannabis.
When people talk about hemp oil, they're referring to oil extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant. There are no cannabinoids in hemp oil. The unfortunate truth is that there are still companies that sell hemp oil in a less than honest way as to fool unsuspecting customers into believing that it’s a CBD product without outright lying on their label. There are a wide range of physical health benefits to hemp oil though! We are very excited to see how that industry develops as the prices become more affordable so that we can all incorporate that into our daily lives.
We would absolutely love to talk to you about all of the wonderful health benefits that CBD has to offer. It has certainly had a profound impact on all of our lives and the ones we have given it to. However, the FDA as of right now is not allowing CBD companies to openly advertise its direct effects other than “calming” and “relaxing” and other not so direct descriptions due to a lack of testing. Which is obviously due to big Pharma lobbying against this drug to keep on making the big bucks off of so many people that could otherwise benefit more through clear accurate communication in ads and packaging. This will be changing very soon we are sure, but until then here is a few studies that have been performed to answer that question.
Still, one of the biggest misconceptions about CBD is that it's a wonder drug. "A lot of times people think CBD is a cure-all, and it's not," Dr. Chin says. "You should also have a healthy lifestyle with plenty of exercises and good nutrition—CBD is not going to fix everything."
It really depends on what your goal is and why you're taking CBD in the first place.
Some people don't want to ingest anything and therefore prefer a topical CBD cream or ointment. This gives you a more direct effect in the applied area and attaches to your CB2 receptors which are covered in the “How It Works” FAQ. The biggest differences between tinctures, edibles, and vape pens are speed of delivery and how long the effects last.
Vaping or smoking CBD delivers the compound into your bloodstream very quickly, but also only last about 1-2 hours. For quick relief this is an effective method! However, we always tell people that the only thing that is safe to inhale is air. We do not carry inhaleable products for this reason. We will not take any risks in regards to our customers health. So be careful and if you do buy inhaleables elsewhere use it sparingly please.
Tinctures work quickly and efficiently and is our preferred method of ingestion. Effects start within 10-30 minutes on average, but some claim much faster. Simply place under your tongue and swallow. Lasts around 3-4 hours on average.
Edibles such as gummies, honey, cookies, etc take a little longer to work but can also last the longest. About 30-60 for effects to begin, but lasts about 4-5 hours on average and are much more fun to consume!
Yes. We work closely with an analytical laboratory that screens our products for potency levels, as well as contaminants like pesticides, heavy metal, microbial fungi, and any other undesirables that we dont want to be selling and you dont want to be ingesting.
Our example sheets are available to view on our website and if you have a question about a specific batch then we will be happy to email you the certificate of analysis on that product.

First, a little background. Industrial hemp was legal in the United States until Congress passed the Marijuana Tax Act in 1937. Nearly 80 years later, the 2014 Farm Bill took the position that states can regulate the production of hemp and, as a result, CBD. The new Farm Bill made it federally legal to grow hemp in 2017 and we’ve been off to the races ever since!
In other words, the latest bill removed hemp from the Drug Enforcement Administration, or DEA's, purview. These policies vary widely. Marijuana and CBD are currently fully legal for both medicinal and recreational purposes in Alaska, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C. In 23 states, it's legal in some form, such as for medicinal purposes. Another 14 states permit just CBD oil. But both are illegal in Idaho, Nebraska, and South Dakota. For more information, the organization Americans for Safe Access has a helpful guide to the specific laws in each state.
That same 2018 Farm Bill means you can now travel between states with legit CBD products. However, if you're traveling with a tincture, be mindful of TSA limits on how much liquid you can carry on an airplane. Mailing CBD is also legal as long as it is within the federal compliance allowance (>0.3%)
We keep it as simple as possible for any of our ingestible products. Our tinctures only have MCT added (highly fractionated coconut oil) Our capsules have a blend of cocoa butter and beeswax added to allow for assisted bio-availability and stability. Our topicals and creams however have a wider array of ingredients as it requires some assistance to get this medicine absorbed enough to make a difference! We list our ingredients on our website for all of our products.
Cannabinoids build up in your system and attach themselves to fat cells. That means that they stick around for a long time. If you are using a full spectrum blend, even though it has less than 0.3% THC it can potentially show up on a drug screen. Especially if you are using it daily and/ or if the drug screening that you undergo is very in depth (eg. Athletes ) All in all, if you are expecting to be undergoing drug tests then we recommend that you stick with our “T-free” formulations just to be safe.
We give it to ours! Just like with anything else it’s important to treat your pet’s health and wellbeing the same as your own. So, if they are normally sensitive to things, then start with the smallest dose possible and work your way up. My dog had a horrible time, but CBD was able to help her relax and weather it out with much less anxiety.
